Selsey Quilters

Our Group was started in 1984 by a few likeminded friends who wanted to meet together to do Patchwork and Quilting. We now have 15 members and we still meet every week in one of our homes.
In our time together we have held 9 Quilt Shows in Selsey and raised over £20,000 for St. Wilfrid's Hospice in Chichester and The Sussex Snowdrop Trust, a charity which helps local families to care for children with life threatening diseases in their own homes.

We have made about 20 group quilts together. Some of these were Raffle Quilts and some as presents for members of the Group. We also have a rolling programme where we take turns to choose a design and have it made by the Group.

We like to get out and about and visit some of the major Shows together, sometimes enjoying a Quilter's Weekend away if it is too far to go in one day. We have also been lucky enough to have had 2 trips to America, the most recent being in October 2004 when some of us enjoyed a fabulous 10 days in New England.

As a group we are now representatives in this area for 'Project Linus' an organisation which donates quilts to seriously ill, abused or traumatised children - children in need of a big hug.

We hope you enjoy visiting our website and we would love to see you at our next Show in 2012 if not before.
