The
start of our trip to New England - October 2004 with "Britain
Before You....and Beyond, Ltd." |
| Staying
at historic country inns - fabulous home cooked meals |
 |
|
Concord,
Massachusetts - wonderful antiuque shops and beautiful church.
Standing on the bridge where the "First" shots of
the civil war were fired to stop the British troops reaching
the town. |
| Impressions
as we travelled along from Boston to Burlington, Vermont. Beautiful
autumn colours, ski slopes, woods, mountains and quiet highways.
We stopped at Quechee Gorge on the way. |
 |
|
Travelling
from Burlington to Franconia - passed a very long covered bridge
at Bath. Note the people carriers used by Ann and Diana for
these tours. Very comfortable and all the stops tailored for
your group. |
| The
covered bridge by Squam Lake - of "On Golden Pond"
fame! |
 |
|
From
Squam Lake we headed for the most famous of quilt shops - Keepsake
Quilting. What a day! |
| Approaching
the White Mountains in New Hampshire - staying at The Franconia
Inn. Autumn colours just stunning here. |
|
|
Ann
arranged for us to meet various quilting groups during our trip.
Here with The Franconian Quilters and their Show & Tell.
We heard stories of bears, moose, and wolves howling in their
back gardens - plus 30' snow in the winter!!! |
